My poor husband thought he was marrying a pretty low maintenance kinda girl. Poor guy didn’t know how wrong he was. It’s true I don’t wear much make up most of the time, but it takes a lot of work to be able to carry off the natural look.
My hair is not as blond as I like to pretend it is. So about every 6 to 8 weeks I spend 2 1/2 hours at Detours Salon touching up my hair so that everyone thinks I’m a natural lightish blond and not that dull dishwater blond my hair is naturally.
About every other week I head down to The DryBar for a blow out. That means I’m guaranteed 4 days of good hair. Ok, that also means at least 8 days of ponytails.
Then there are the eyebrows. Those dang eyebrows. Every 2 weeks I head down to the Browtique and get those puppies waxed. If I even attempt to tweeze them myself I end up with one 1 inch higher than the other.
I’m always fighting dry skin and I believe every new lotion on the market is going to solve my problems! I am a sucker for lotions with pretty smells, promises of maximum moisture, or pretty bottles. SUCKER I tell ya.
I have drawers and baskets full of lotions, but I always use the same two. The Eucerin calming itch-relief and the Bliss Body Butter. All the others sit, sometimes for years having been used only a few times. Ok, so fine, I do love the smell of my La Costa Coconut Mango lotion, but I normally put that on after I put on the Eucerin.
Another secret, I’m a make up whore!!!
Yes, this is a picture of part of my make up drawer. Yes, I know I really need to organize it, but the truth is I only use this…
If you see me out, this is probably all I have on. Everyday I wear my M.A.C tinted moisturizer, M.A.C mineral powder, M.A.C blush and RevitaLash mascara. When I really want to fancy it up, I’ll actually put on the eye shadow and lip gloss.
Then there’s the laser hair removal, the pedicures and the… Well, let’s not get into all the details. I need to keep some secrets. With everything that I do, my dear husband still thinks I’m low maintenance. Let’s just say, it takes a lot of maintenance to be low maintenance.
What are your must haves? What do you do to pretty yourself up?
