I am a baker, not a chef. I love complex baking recipes, but when it comes to cooking the easier the better. Trust me, this is easy!!
There are a million different Crock-Pot ribs out there, but none where exactly what I was looking for. I love BBQ’d ribs, but I do not have the grill skill to properly prepare them. So I needed a mesquite rub that would help give that flavor even though the ribs were going to sit in a Crock-Pot for 7 hours. No you can not taste the charcoal on them, but they have that nice mesquite taste!
First you need the dry rub
In a bowl mix
- Sea Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Ground Pepper
- Onion Powder
- Brown Sugar
How much depends on your preferred taste and the how many ribs you’re making. Don’t be afraid experiment! After you have all your ingredients combined together simply rub onto both sides of your ribs.
Dice up a white onion, a red bell pepper and 2 garlic cloves and put them into the Crock-Pot.
Now is when the hard part comes. Are you ready?
Put the ribs into the Crock-Pot and add your favorite BBQ sauce. I normally use 1 and 1/2 bottles. Oh yes I do! Grab a spoon and put some of that yummy onion, pepper and garlic mixture on top of the ribs too!
Now cook on high for about 7 hours. The meat should literally fall off the bone.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
