Car Seats Believe it or not, car seats have expirations dates! Plastic degrades as does the styrofoam in the seats. Please look for the expiration on your seat before you pass it on or accept it as a hand-me-down.
Breast Pumps The official FDA recommendation is to dump the old pump and buy a new one. Pump mothers, tubing and other parts can contain old milk and can possibly cause infections.
Baby Bottles Maybe not so much the bottle, but you should buy new nipples. Any plastic bottles that are scratched, discolored or warped should be replaced to.
Bath Toys Generally you should be tossing these every three months. Bath toys trap water, grow mold, and should never be handed down.
Pacifiers and Teething Toys Just like all plastics they tend to weaken and just like bottle nipples, they should be replaced.
Crib Mattress Used mattress can be unsanitary. To be on the safe side, get a new one.
Recalls Check any crib, highchair, strollers, and bouncers given to you before using them with your baby. Also check to make sure there is no rust, that locks hold, springs still work and everything folds the way it should.
