So Ellie started the 1st grade yesterday. Translation, I spent most of yesterday morning trying to fight back tears. UGH!
We met her teacher who appears very lovely. We fought Disneyland size crowds and quickly learned a few differences between public and private schools. I’ll be sure to share those at a later date.
Zach and I made our way home where I put him down for a nap. I did the dishes, got some work done and started to clean up around the house. Just as I had put the last toy in the toy basket Zach was ready to get up.
The rest of the morning and afternoon went by pretty much as it normally would. Around 12:45 Zach told me he was ready for a nap. Yes my crazy son tell US when he’s ready for bed. I took him upstairs and laid him down.
At this point I ready to celebrate my quiet afternoon by catching up on True Blood. Zach had other plans.
After about 20 minutes I heard a loud thud and Zach crying. I checked the dropcam and saw this…
Nothing. I just figured he had kicked the headboard of his crib and was just fussing. When it didn’t stop after a few moments I decided to go check on him. He very rarely fusses when I put him down for a nap so I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Imagine my surprise when I see him standing by his crib!
I looked around his crib trying to figure out how he got out. Had he stood on a stuffed animal? Had he piled up his blanket to give him an extra boost? I calmed him down and placed him back in his crib.
I made my way downstairs and hit play again. A few minutes later my gut told me to check the dropcam again. This time I see this…
And then a loud thud proceeded by screaming.
Apparently Zach couldn’t let his sister be the star of the day. He had to steal her thunder by creating some of his own. UGH!
Don’t worry, we had one more drop down level on the crib. So we bought ourselves a little time.
