I apologize for the grainy photos, but the lighting is soft in a facial room and it made for imperfect photos.
Months ago a friend of mine had a HydraFacial and called to tell me how amazing it was. Her final words were, “book one now.” I assured her I would and then…life. In December La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre contacted me and asked if I would be interested in coming in to try out a HydraFacial and, if I felt so inspired after the facial, to write about my experience. I eagerly jumped at the chance, scheduled my appointment and then proceeded to reschedule twice due to sick kids. FINALLY, I was able to make my appointment. My dear friend was not lying. This facial made my skin feel incredible. Youthful. Plump.
Before she began I snapped a photo of my skin.
This is Cameron, my Aesthetician, explaining how a HydraFacial works. She was incredible. I spent the entire facial wondering if she would like to go have a glass of wine together and tell me more about skincare and her studies abroad. She truly was so filled with information and made skincare sound so interesting I wanted to spend hours with her.
Sounds interesting right? You can literally feel moisture being pushed into your skin. It’s incredible. The Hydrafacial reduces fine lines & wrinkles, helps clear up acne, blackheads & whiteheads, smooths forehead creases & nasolabial folds (without injections!), improves hyperpigmentation & balances coloration, diminishes age spots & visible sun damage, smooths puffy, dark circles under the eyes. It really does.
This was literally the bulk of it. For nearly an hour she infused my skin with all sorts of feel good, plump up, make my face more vibrant good stuff. Technically speaking they would say, “The DermaBuilder Peptide Complex skin strengthening and smoothing system is a complex of peptides that help to repair and improve the structure of the Dermal-Epidermal Junction by stimulating broad-spectrum collagen/elastin proteins.”
Then she used this little contraption.LED Therapy—Blue and Red spectrum LEDs, Blue to improve the appearance of oily, congested skin and to treat moderate inflammatory acne. Kills bacteria. Red LED helps reduce the appearance of redness and irritation and the signs of aging.
This is the photo I took right after the HydraFacial. You can definitely see that the fine lines are less noticeable and my skin tone is much more even. The best part is that after a few days it was even more noticeable and the effects lasted for weeks.
I just called to book my next appointment. You should too. If not here locally at LJCSC, then someplace near you. It’s worth every penny.
