Last night my husband and I had a “business” cocktail party we needed to attend. You know, the kind of cocktail party where you need a few drinks just to make it through. I had a few more than a few drinks last night. I think I crawled into bed around 1ish. I looked at the clock and figured I had 6 hours to sleep. I can work with that.
Of course Ellie wasn’t going to let me get a solid consistent 6 hours of sleep. She was up what felt like ever 30 minutes. When the sun finally showed it’s ugly face today I figured I could just get her dressed and out of the house. Maybe then I could fall back to sleep for another 2 hours.
Of course we’re running late today, when aren’t we running late. It’s also going to be in the 90’s here today, so I put Ellie in a T-Shirt and shorts. I pulled her hair back into a ponytail and started to spray it.
WHAT’S THE DATE?
IT’S PICTURE DAY!
I ran to her closet. Throw outfits like a crazy person, not finding anything. That’s when I remembered that I there was a box from Kids Gap in the living room. Thank you Aqua Buddha!!!
I rip the box open so relieved that I had been smart enough to order her “holiday” dress. Let’s not forget that it’s going to be 90 degrees here today. I just sent this poor girl to school in a sweater dress with black boots. Whatever, hopefully the pictures will be cute.
I’ve truly embraced the Rock On Mommies philosophy of living to be more than “just a Mom”. But this morning, maybe I should have been a better Mom. ARGH! Hashtag my day as #MommyFailDay
