So have you read about the first haunted I posted? Ok then, one to the next.
I’ve stayed here twice. It’s probably one of my favorite hotels. I just love history of this hotel.
We were there for a Christmas party one year in the Blossom Ballroom. The same room where the very 1st Academy Awards were held. I loved sitting in that room dressed up just imagining what all had gone on in that room.
Doors first opened on May 15, 1927 and every imaginable celebrity has stayed there at one point. You can feel the history as you walk through the halls.
Now for the Ghosts
I was there in 2005 when the Roosevelt was going through a major renovation. I asked one of the staff to see the Marilyn mirror. He acted as though he had no idea what I was talking about. Slightly embarrassed I walked back over to my husband and went on enjoying my evening. Later one of the Managers walked up to me and asked if I had inquired about the Marilyn mirror. Um yeah! He walked me up the stairs into a little dead end hallway where they had just remodeled a place to display the mirror.
The face of Marilyn Monroe!
Ok, so they have pretty much guaranteed that you’ll see Marylin’s face in the mirror. So basically I saw nothing.
That’s right I didn’t see anything, but just to stand there and know that at one point Marilyn Monroe looked into the same mirror was a little creepy.
There have been a number of people also claim to have seen her ghost dancing in the ballroom though. I did not see her. Boo!
Montgomery Clift, who lived at the Roosevelt for three months while filming From Here to Eternity (1953), is said to haunt his old room, 928. People claim to hear him playing his bugle and see him walking the hallways of the 8th floor.
