There’s just something about Christmas and the holidays that turn on my cravings for a yummy and sweet cocktail. There’s also something about Christmas and winter that makes me whip up tons of delicious goodies with Nutella. So this year as I was circling the isles at the liqueur store, and stumbled across a bottle of Frangelico, I decided to combine my love of sweet drinks with sweet eats. Here’s what I came up with:
In a small saucepan, warm a huge dallop or one overflowing tablespoon of Nutella with ¼ of a cup of half and half or milk. Just enough to fully melt down the chocolately hazlenut spread to a syrup consistency. While this is going on, pour 1 shot of butterschnapps, 1 shot of Frangelico, and 1 shot of Baily’s (I like the caramel kind) each into 2 glasses. Once your Nutella syrup is ready, pour evenly between the two glasses and top with some whipped cream or chocolate shavings.
If you prefer your cocktails cold, whip the Nutella and milk together until well blended. Pour your shots into a shaker with some ice, add the Nutella mixture, serve and enjoy!
Hot or cold this cocktail should keep your holidays happy and hoppin’!
