Last week’s 5 Things 4 Me was a COMPLETE and ABSOLUTE BUST! I did not do one single thing on my list. Which is the reason I think this thing is so brilliant. We as moms always seem to put ourselves last and rarely take the time to refuel ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually. Even after promising myself last week that I would make the time, I did nothing.
Last week was filled with stress. We are in escrow, have no place to move because the rental market sucks (I drove by an RV for sale yesterday and seriously considered buying it. Seriously.), we are trying to buy a fixer upper, and I am now officially one week away from taking my first born baby to college. *starts sobbing* OH MY HELL I NEED 5 THINGS 4 ME.
So this week, I am going to do this. Because last week I slept about two hours per night and spent the other six panicking over to do lists and feeling helpless about all the things that were out of my control. I went for a run the last three days in a row and that has greatly helped my stress level. Now I need to add 5 Things 4 Me.
1. (Taken from last week’s failed list) Take a bTake a bath. When we remodeled the house we are about to sell, I insisted that we put in the most stunning four legged bathtub because I was going to relax nightly in it. I can honestly count the number of times I have done that on my two hands. It’s been eight years.
2. Do one yoga class.
3. Do one Dailey Method class.
4. Hike Torrey Pines
5. Get my nails done.
