Meatballs Baked in Marinara

These meatballs are a staple in our home. The kids love them and they are pretty easy to make. I serve them with garlic bread and salad and it’s a fabulous meal for a bunch of hungry boys. 

Ingredients
3.5 pounds ground beef
66 ounces red pasta sauce (My husband insists on Ragu. He’s an 70s kid.)
5 cloves garlic
1 cup diced yellow onion
3 cups mozzarella
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup bread crumbs
½ teaspoon salt
pinch of pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Spaghetti

How to:

Add ½ tablespoon of olive oil to skillet and saute onion and garlic over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Meatballs Baked in Marinara

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl.

Using hands create golf ball sized meatballs.

Add remaining ½ tablespoon of olive oil to skillet and brown sides of each meatball over medium heat in batches.

When all meatballs are browned and placed in casserole dishes pour sauce over meatballs evenly.

Bake meatballs at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Boil spaghetti.

Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over meatballs and bake another 10 minutes.
