It is absolutely none of your business if Beyonce had a C-Section. It is also not your place to judge if she did! You have no idea if it was elective or performed for medical reasons. The judgmental and selfish comments I’m reading on twitter and Facebook are infuriating.
Like 1000’s of other babies, my daughter was a scheduled C-Section for medical reasons. Honestly, a part of me relieved. I had no desirer, no inner calling, to push a kid out of my who-ha. Turns out if I had been pregnant prior to this medical miracle procedure that we now call the C-Section Ellie and I would have died. Personally, I think that makes me a very good Mom for deciding not to fight my doctors advice and try and do it naturally.
Even if Beyonce had an elective C-Section, GOOD FOR HER! She made her choice and it’s none of your business. She is no less a mother for this choice. She is not a bad mother for this choice.
Andrea Updyke from Scars For Love – “Having a cesarean section is almost never a woman’s first choice and often times along with the incredibly difficult physical recovery comes the need for emotional healing as well. No woman should be judged for the way her birth unfolds. Period.”
As far the ridiculous comments about her having a C-Section because she had a tummy tuck too. No respectable cosmetic surgeon will do a tuck right after birth anymore. They ask that you wait at least 6 to 9 months to give a chance for the internal swelling to heal.
I get so upset and I’m tired of hearing people preach the anti C-Section movement all the time. Those of us who have had scheduled or even elective C-Sections have doctors. We all discussed and weighted our options before making our final decision. I assure you, none of it was taken lightly. Giving birth and being a Mom is such a hard and thankless job to begin with. Must we judge and try to make those of us who had a C-Section feel guilty? How about I do it my way, you do it your way and we’ll leave it at that.
