It’s been a while since I’ve update you on the progress of the Holly House. Mostly because it’s slow changing and there is nothing as dramatic as the demo phase. Also, because I keep thinking that I want to wait until we are done and show you the complete makeover. I’ve recently come to realize that means I won’t be showing you photos until 2020. We’ve come a LONG way, but we aren’t even close to being finished. So, I will just show you our progress, keep taking deep breaths and sipping on my chardonnay.
Let’s start with the master bathroom. Remember this old thing?
It’s looooong gone. My master now looks like this. We still have a lot to do in this bathroom. Mirrors. Lights. Toilet paper holder. Wires hanging out of the walls. Window coverings so I can actually shower in it. But? It’s progress.
Onto the main room. The old living room.
And the new living room. None of our furniture has arrived, as with everything in this house it is delayed, so our old sofa is in here. We have a new sofa and chairs heading our way. The piece with the red stools is one of my favorites finds. It was left here by the previous owner. It was his work bench in the garage.
I am including this picture to show you the transition from living room to kitchen. There used to be walls and a small doorway separating the two. We blew out the wall, did away with the formal dining room and made an island big enough to seat eight. We are not a formal dining room family. What we are is a watch football while we eat and play games together kind of family. We wanted all the space to connect.
So onto the kitchen. The old kitchen.
I have built myself a dream kitchen. It has taken me 43 years to really know what I wanted in a kitchen, but I finally figured it out. We are still waiting for the backsplash. We are also still waiting for our third trash compactor to arrive. The first one didn’t fit and I hated the second one. And by waiting for it to arrive I mean I have to find one I like and order it. But for the most part, my kitchen is complete.
Remember this old sign that I insisted be salvaged?
She is now a beautiful piece in our entry. I am CRAZY for this sign!
And in an effort to keep on keepin’ it real? This is the outside of my house.
And my laundry room. Because a job, blog and remodel leave very little time to do the things you hate.
Keep logging on for updated photos and to find out if my kids learn to do their own laundry.
