This is a sponsored by post by the Kmart Joe Boxer Inactivity Tracker but my overwhelming desire to take a break from life, kids and all the expectations, is all my exhausted, harried own.
I don’t know about you, but most days I vow to take some time for myself and all days I don’t. I have three kids and a household I run. I am working on my second book. I am working on an app. I run this little website you are currently reading with Theresa. I volunteer in the community. I workout. I GO. GO. GO. And? I am exhausted. I need a little down time.
I have book after book downloaded or purchased and ready to be read. But I don’t read them.
I have yet to get through the second season of House of Cards because by the time I get the kids into bed I am exhausted and I start the second episode of the second season, for the 173rd time, and go to sleep.
I have friends I haven’t been able to catch up with for months because…see above.
I am ready to do whatever it takes to make some time for chilling. Hard. Kmart Joe Boxer Inactivity Tracker for the win. Seriously? Whatever genius came up with the idea to reward me for doing nothing deserves “high hands” (You moms get that reference? Because that is likely the last bit of “time off” you had too. And taking kids to a movie is not actually chilling unless you take a nap and that seems unsafe. Mostly. If you got the movie reference, leave it in the comments below. It makes you as pathetic as I am and I want company.)
While I would love to sit on the sofa and do nothing, that is like walking naked through a snowstorm. You are exposed to the elements. And by elements, I mean children. So instead, I take my chill to the only logical place in the house. The one room with a lock on the door. The place men have known about for years.
The bathroom. (Bonus Tip: The kids stay away for a long time if you tell them you are going in to clean their bathroom and would love their help.)
I am nowhere near my goal of Level 6 (you get rewards as you reach different levels of chill), but I am going to be spending a lot more time making sure everything “comes out ok”. Stay tuned for more #chillhard videos. Hide wherever you need to my friends. Make it happen. Overachieve at underachieving. Make your own #chillhard videos and tag me @ooph on Twitter when you share them. I want to see where you hide. Get your own Kmart Joe Boxer Inactivity Tracker and let’s compete for who can hide and chill the best.
Want to win one and play along?
Contest runs until April 30th!
MUST COMMENT ON BLOG TO ENTER: Remember that prompt above? “high hands” If you don’t know, just tell me where you hide.
