I can not believe how quickly 2014 has gone by! 2013 was not our year. We hit hurdle after hurdle, but we survived. 2014 was the opposite of 2013 and I’m terribly sad to say goodbye to it.
One year ago good friends were visiting us from Arizona for New Years Eve. The kids were off playing we sat on the couch, fire going, drinks flowing (for everyone but me) and a house with filled with laughter. Something we so needed after the year we just had! This was a huge turning point for us as a family.
We had only recently learned that we were pregnant with our third, and the future seemed overwhelming to say the least. How were we going to manage another one? Where were we going to fit another one? Do we really have to start all again? We couldn’t see a light at the end of the childhood tunnel.
New Years Eve was the first time in weeks we laughed. We watched our dear friends not only manage four kids, but we watched them love each other. We watched their wonderful family dynamic and for the first time our future with three children not only seemed doable, but it started to be something we were looking forward to.
So here we are a year later and I wouldn’t change any moment of the last year. In 2014, we welcomed the beautiful and sweet Caileigh into our family. We said goodbye to the house that had been our home and said hello to a house that would soon become our home. There have been a few sad tears, but mostly happy ones.
So 2015, you have a lot to live up to. We’re looking forward to seeing Caileigh start to walk, Ellie continue to grow into the beautiful young woman she’s becoming and Zach leaving toddlerhood and becoming a big boy. We’re looking forward to all the projects we have planned for our new home. We’re looking forward to seeing family and friends who don’t live close. We’re looking forward to traveling again. We’re looking forward to growing as family.
So here’s to 2015! I hope it bring you all the happiness your heart can hold.
