My husband and I decided to take our 5 year old and 2.5 year old to Disneyland for their fall break from preschool. Some would say we were crazy for taking them that young; however, we had a great time!
I started by visiting Disneyland.com to see ticket prices and hotel rates. I ended up purchasing a package deal for the tickets, the hotel and transportation to/from the hotel to the park. Although the Disney owned resorts were priced fairly high, there were options for offsite properties such as the Anaheim Marriott, the Hilton etc. After making my selections and paying just one time everything was set. (Well, almost everything, I still had to decide on a stroller, which I will address shortly.)
After paying, I instantly started receiving emails from Disney confirming our trip and providing additional tips on our upcoming vacation. Between the time of the purchase and the vacation I received periodic emails from Disney providing advice and things to think of for our upcoming visit. I found this to be helpful and enlightening. Within a week I received a package from Disney that included all the vouchers, brochures and even little Cars luggage tags in a handy Disney folder. Because my husband is smart, he called the hotel the night before arrival to confirm our room. To our dismay the Anaheim Marriott had no record of our upcoming arrival. I called the Disney customer service number for help. The representative immediately jumped into action and called the hotel to get things straight. He then called me back confirming everything was a go and told me to call at anytime if we needed anything. Brownie points for Disney customer service. The rest of the trip was smooth and problem free.
Now I had to figure out the stroller issue. You see, I have a Peg double stroller that I seriously dislike. It is bulky and falling apart and I knew I did not want to push it around Disneyland for two days. So, I started researching whether and where I should rent a stroller from. My research started with the strollers that Disney itself rents. The reviews I found were not positive so I decided to look elsewhere. I completed a Google search using the terms “double stroller rental for Disneyland” and came across City Stroller Rentals. I looked at what strollers they rented and was pleased to see they had City Mini Double Strollers. (They also have chicco, Britax, bugaboo, Maclaren and other products like car seats).
The process was so easy and fast. I signed up online to check the availability and received a responsive email quickly that it had a stroller available. I paid the $50.00 for a two-day rental via PayPal and I was all set.
City Stroller Rentals delivered the stroller to my hotel and picked it up when I was done. The stroller was in great shape, complete with the drink holder, and was perfect for Disney. There was even a bright neon green sign attached to the back bottom of the stroller so we would know which one was ours at the park. Both of my boys fit in the stroller and my little one fell asleep comfortably in it for over an hour – at Disney! Awesome!
There is no doubt in my mind that I made the right decision and I highly recommend City Stroller Rentals.
(They also have rentals in LA, San Francisco/Bay Area, Orange County and Orlando.)
