DIY Snowman Hat Tree Topper

FH Complete

We have had the same wicker star on top of our tree forever and I was tired of it. This year I decided to do something different. It was super easy to make, loads of fun and I LOVE the way it looks on our tree!

Supplies:
Paint can, metal coffee can or metal cylinder
Album you don’t mind parting with
A garland sprig
One large and two small birds
One small nest
Thick Ribbon
Black spray paint
Battery powered light strand (I found mine at Pier One)
Glue Gun

Instructions:
Spray the can black and let dry.
Cut a larger opening in the center of the album.
FH Album
When can is dry, use a hot glue gun to glue album and can together. (Trace the rim of the can with hot glue and then push down onto album.)
Cut the pieces you want to use from your garland sprig.

Measure out your ribbon and cut it.
Glue to ribbon to the hat where the two ribbon ends meet.
Glue the pieces from the garlic sprig to the base of the hat along with the red bird.

Glue the nest and birds to the top of the hat. (I used another tiny sprig.)
