As you all know unless this is your first time here, my son left for college this fall. I can finally type that without crying, so that’s cool. Life gave me a swift kick in the gut with my mom passing away unexpectedly, an ooph moment if you will, shortly after he left and quite honestly it hadn’t even occurred to me to send some love from home. Unless, of course, you count the texts I get daily saying, “Marm, I need (insert a number of things),” and I send whatever the inserted need is.
Then this happened:
Oh. Right. Got it. So I set out to send a REALLY AWESOME care package to make up for the lack of one prior to now and also because I am super competitive and knew my care package would be compared to others. (I know, it’s a problem. I’m trying to get better…)
As the smell of the homemade banana bread I’m baking for him swirled mouthwateringly around my home, I put together a complete list of things I think he and all college boys would love.
Mac and Cheese Cups
Sugary treats: Jelly beans, licorice, gummies, etc.
Bars (granola or protein)
Gum and mints
Juice Boxes (My boys LOVE juice boxes. Maybe yours have outgrown them.)
There’s a Time To Be Silly
Cards Against Humanity (the super non politically correct card game but loads of inappropriate fun)
Dice (and maybe print the Yahtzee forms out from online and send too)
Something for their dorm wall.
In Case of a Cold
What would you add?
