I should have posted this last week, but I’ve had video editing issues. This is not one of my better video editing jobs, but I’m still learning the new program. My Flip Camera and Microsoft Live Video Editor don’t communicate well so I had to find a new program. I’m now trying Adobe Premiere Element. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions please share them with me!
As most of you know I’m currently on a month long road trip. We’ve seen parts of the country that I wouldn’t normally see and we’ve loved every moment of it.
Currently we’re in Shelbyville, Kentucky. So what makes Shelbyville special? Well Colonel Sanders use to live here! More about that in a later post.
Visiting New York City every year is one of my favorite parts of the trip. Last year we had an amazing time watch Ellie play in the fountain in Washington Square Park. This year at the request of Lil L, we went to see the Statue of Liberty. If you ask her, she’ll tell you this was her favorite part of NYC.
We also took a walk around the financial district. I don’t think my husband will admit it, but I think he loves walking down Wall Street. He was telling me about each building and what was going on inside. The day we were there was a particularly bad day on Wall Street. Everyone exiting the buildings did NOT have smiles on there faces. Regardless, I loved the energy!
Being a crazy History lover, I was so excited to see Federal Hall and to stand where some of our founding father once stood. Not only was I shocked to see the amount of security on Wall Street and never realized how close it was to World Trade Center. The Twin Towers stood just a few blocks away.
Here’s a quick video with some of our highlights…

A few of you have asked how the Bumbleride held up in the city. It was amazing! Ellie fell asleep in it walking by Union Square. She never felt a single bump! Even my husband admitted it was worth every penny!
If you’ve never been New York City, you really should make it a point to visit. It really is an amazing city.
