Before Zach came along and before she started school, Ellie and I made a habit of have a Mommy Daughter Date Days at least once a week. Now we’re luck if it happens once every 2 months. This makes me incredibly sad because this is something we really enjoyed doing. So we’re going to changed that! We’re going to set up a Mommy Daughter Date Day at least every other week.
Need a few ideas of what to do?
1. Beauty day
You don’t have to be a fashion expert or even know a ton about make-up to enjoy a bit of pampering. Go get your hair blown out or get a Mani-Pedi together. This is the perfect time to talk about what’s going on in her life and to giggle about whatever.
2. Catch a Show
It doesn’t have to be a broadway show. It could be a small community theater, but live theater just seems so much more magical than a movie screen.
3. Visit a Museum
Learn about something new together or teach her about your favorite artist.
4. Go on a Picnic
While going to restaurant is nice, sometimes it’s nice to not use those restaurant manners. Pack the picnic together and make it an adventure.
5. Afternoon Tea
While it’s fun to forget our manners sometimes, it can be just as much fun being on our best behavior. Eating finger sandwiches, sipping on tea, splurging on mini dessert cakes and pretending to be princesses will make a memories that you’ll laugh about for years. Most resorts serve an afternoon tea. Make sure you call and make reservations.
Your date day doesn’t have to be extravagant. Just letting her know that you enjoy spending time with her will not only create happy memories, but it will also help create trust. Time flies by fast, make sure you make time for her now.
