One of the things my husband really wanted in a new house was a swimming pool. Thank goodness the house I loved had a pool! I’m pretty convinced if it hadn’t we’d still be looking at houses!
We love having the pool and truly don’t mind the up keep, but it is a 10 year old pool and that means that it needs some work! We have stones falling off the wall, it has 3 gas fire pits that we need to update, the pebble tech bottom that needs patching and a billion other little problems. Did I mention the 3 fire pits? You know the ones currently holding pool toys. UGH
What’s my solution to all of these problems? I head to Pinterest of course! I need inspiration!
Your Own Personal Oasis
Walking into a backyard oasis is so relaxing. It somehow makes all the everyday issues just seem a million miles away to some hidden lagoon or pond. These pools tend to be irregular shaped and have water fall features.
Some where in San Diego this pool exist! This is the dream pool of my childhood! Now I would spend my time panicking that someone was going to break something and by someone I mean my 3 year old Zach.
I absolutely love the beach entrance to this pool. This is one feature I really wish our pool had. The lounge chairs right at the entrance gives is a beach resort feel.
I am swooning over all the natural swimming pools that are out there. They use biological filters and plants rooted hydroponically in the system rather than chemicals to clean the pool. How cool is that?
Over The Top
You know those pools that you see in travel and architecture magazines. The one’s that you have to wonder if they really exist and if so does anyone really swim in them?
I love how secluded this pool feels, but the plunging water fall prevents it from having a closed in look. I imagine the sound of this fall is spectacular!
Could you imagine rather then getting out of the pool to come inside you just swim inside? This is absolutely stunning. I want to know if it counts as house square footage.
Yes this pool exist, but you’ll have to go to Thailand to take a dip. With my kids though, no one would stay dry while trying to eat at that table.
This is a private home pool and yes, it is two stories. If you would like to live in Dallas and can convince the family who paid 6.8 million for this home in 2013 to sell it to you it can be yours.
I like all the pond shaped pool, but they’re just not me. I love simple clean lines of a rectangular pool. I’d love to redo our pool by getting rid of the slate and adding brick. I’d love to take the black tile and make it either blue or a lighter grey. I want something a little less complicated looking. Something like these…
I love the simple backyard and pool.
I love this everything about this backyard and pool! I might even move to Brussels just to live here!
What an amazing secret garden to have hiding in your backyard.
This is Jeff Lewis’s, from Bravo’s Flipping Out, pool at his Gramercy home and it’s look I’d eventually like to go with for our pool. The brick reminds of either the East Coast or old Hollywood. The clean lines gives me that controlled clean look I crave because my kids messiness drives me crazy.
